Environmental issues are becoming more important with many home owners and buyers. Lead based paint is usually found in homes that were built prior to 1978. The condition is hazardous if the paint is found to be cracking or peeling. Radon Gas is a radioactive gas that comes from the natural decay of uranium in the soil. The majority of homes have some amount of radon present. Asbestos was once used in older homes(approx. 30 years ago). It was used for insulation and other building material purposes. If asbestos starts to release fibers into the air, it should be removed by a professional contractor who is licensed in asbestos cleanup.
